Importing a paper or PDF form

Updated

Start from the paper form or PDF you already use. AI reads each page, suggests fields and types, and you review the draft before saving.

Import a form

  1. Open Forms and tap New.
  2. Choose Start from a paper form. Import needs an internet connection.
  3. Tap Add the first page on a phone, or drop a file on a computer. PDFs and JPEG, PNG, or HEIC photos work.
  4. Tap Add page for more pages, then the Import button, which shows how many pages you added.

Review before saving

The fields open in the builder with a note to review each one before saving. Fields with a yellow dot may need adjustment. Check labels, dropdown options, and required settings. If a field has the wrong type, add a field of the right type and delete the old one. Then tap Save.

What it can detect

Short and long text, numbers, dates, times, dropdowns, multi-selects, checkboxes, pass/fail, photos, GPS, signatures, ratings, line items, section headers, and paragraphs. Barcode / QR, calculation, repeating section, attachment, and labor timer fields are not detected. Add them after importing.

Limits

  • Free: up to 3 pages per import, 3 pages a month.
  • Pro: up to 20 pages per import, 100 pages a month.
  • Team: up to 20 pages per import, no monthly page cap.
  • A page counts toward your allowance only after the AI reads it successfully.
  • Up to 50 fields are read from each group of three pages, and up to 250 per import.
  • The import builds a mobile form. It does not keep your PDF's layout.
